Education Bill receives Royal Assent

The Coalition Government's Education Bill was finally granted Royal Assent on 15 November 2011. 

The Education Act 2011 will help teachers raise standards in education. It includes new legal powers to help teachers root out poor behaviour, to tackle under-performance, and to improve the way in which schools are held to account.

Schools Minister Nick Gibb said:

Charities back on track

A new report has been issued by the charity commission. The report is called “charities back on track” and covers the themes and lessons from their compliance and investigation work for 2010-11. It shows that the number of serious incidents being reported has risen from 451 in 2009-10 to 849 in 2010-11.
