    The following changes in legislation will affect payroll processing:

    • Changes to HMRC fines
    • Benefits in kind to be processed through the payroll (timescales yet to be confirmed but this will happen)

  • Bench marking report for SW Care Homes (25/02/2010)

    The care-homes team at South West accountancy firm, Bishop Fleming, has created the region’s first “bench-marking” report, enabling care-home owners to compare their business to competitors within the region.

  • Key Payroll Dates (28/01/2010)
    • PAYE income tax, Employee's and Employer's National Insurance Contributions (NIC), postal payments must reach HM Revenue & Customs every month by the 19th, the 22nd if paying electronically.
    • New income tax year commences on the 6th April.
    • Outstanding PAYE income tax and Class 1 NICs - postal payments must reach your HM Revenue & Customs Accounts Office by the 19th April, the 22nd if paying electronically.
    • Employer Annual Return (P35 and P14s) must reach HM Revenue & Customs by the 19th May.
    • Your employees must be provided with an end of year form P60 by the 31st May.
    • If you are required to file expenses and benefits forms, P9D, P11D and P11D(b), these must reach HM Revenue & Customs by the 6th July.
    • Class 1A NICs (that are due on the taxable expenses and benefits you’ve paid or provided) – postal payments must reach your HM Revenue & Customs Accounts Office by the 19th July, the 22nd July if paying electronically.
    • Class 1B NICs (income tax and NICs due on PAYE Settlement Agreements) – postal payments must reach your HM Revenue & Customs Accounts Office by the 19th October, the 22nd October if paying electronically.
